Grouping and Outlining is a great way to help your spreadsheet readers to quickly see the data that is important to them. To often I see financial spreadsheets that are just a sea of numbers - well this easy technique in Excel can help make your spreadsheets easier to understand.
Just click the [+] and the data expands click the [-] and your data will contract - no VBA, no magic, just an inbuilt feature of Excel that you can master in less then 5 minutes using this tutorial.

Feedback for this tutorial:
"All I can say is that I wish I had known about this earlier! It really is very useful especially when dealing with large tables of financial data. To think I might have missed this entire tutorial because I had no idea what the video title "Grouping and Outlining" was alluding to. Maybe this should be under the section about working with large spreadsheets. Anyways, a really handy technique to know!"
"Great tutorial Clayton. I have never used this feature, when I didn't want the data to show in my spreadsheets I would simply use format row/column hide feature. This way you have easy access to the hidden data which is very user freindly. Great job thanks much, Kay Lenort"
"excellent tutorial - new content to me and well explained by you."
"I have never used the Group and Outline feature before. I always did it the long way with sort, filter, sum. This is so much easier. Thanks, Clayton."
